This aromatic Single Origin Espresso tastes strong and chocolaty with bright notes of wild honey and sweet cane sugar. Its aromas blend very harmoniously, giving this balanced coffee a unique character. This pure Catuai comes from the picturesque Finca Lérida in Panama, from which we have been sourcing coffee directly for 4 years. Finca Lérida is not only world-renowned for its award-winning Geishas but also grows a particularly aromatic Catuai in its fantastic microclimate. We roast these pure beans in a balanced and well-developed manner to optimally highlight the chocolaty honey sweetness. As a pure espresso, this coffee unfolds its special flavor profile and, due to its intense aroma, is also excellent for all milk-based drinks. For this high-quality coffee, only the ripest fruits are hand-picked, with a bush being harvested up to eight times to ensure all beans reach optimal sweetness. Afterward, the coffee cherries are depulped, thoroughly washed, and gently air-dried with constant turning. Finca Lérida is located in Boquete, and anyone who has the opportunity to visit this farm feels the magic of this place amidst the Panamanian rainforest. It is a female-led farm, and their attention to detail is visible everywhere. Maria Amoruso grew up as the eldest of five siblings in Boquete and, as a little girl, planted coffee plants with her grandfather and helped him with processing. She always dreamed of having her own farm, and when Finca Lérida was up for sale in 2009, she brought this special place with one of the best locations for coffee cultivation back to life and quickly gained worldwide attention for her high-quality coffee.
