Description
Origin: Kenya & Ethiopia Process: washed & natural Altitude: ~1700-2200m Varietal: various JARC Landraces & combination of SL's and ruiru 11, Batian Roast level: Medium Notes: upside down pineapple cake, raspberry, peach Originally an ode to one of our favourite espresso blends from the UK, the milkshake morphed into our tribute to a director that we love...David Lynch. It's a dessert cart at your favourite old school diner, it's memories of your grandmothers angel food cake with cut-up strawberries and fresh cream in summer, it's nostalgic movies that make us feel good. This is easily one of the best blends we've made. It changes every year because the crops rotate but we will always aim to keep it fruit forward but round, juicy but not too bright. Made with coffees we'd serve as Single Origins, as usual, this blend is of the utmost quality. It's something we do differently here at Traffic...because we care ; ) Prices may rise & fall throughout the year based on what kind of prices we receive as a final price for the coffees we're roasting for this blend. WHEN we can reduce the prices we will but, keep in mind, these are coffees from inherently expensive origins and we're sourcing from our long time partners so, they have final say in what their coffees are worth. We hope you agree : ) PULLING THE MILKSHAKE We recommend larger shots, so, a larger ratio of dry to wet. EXAMPLE: 17g ground coffee = 42.5-45g of espresso (in 29-31 seconds) (This is a 1:2.5-2.75 ratio) IF you age this 2 months or + you can sometimes compress that ratio to close to a 1:2-1:2.25 ratio which is concentrated but PACKED with flavour! Both ways work, play with it! ALSO, don't be afraid of making this coffee as a pour over or a batch of drip. It's awesome like that too!
