Raised in Bursa Village, a settlement that only recently began coffee cultivation, Mullugeta kicked off his career as a coffee cherry picker in Arsi. After years of hands-on experience, he returned to his hometown Bursa Village and built his own mill, Dawencho, in 2021. In the same year, he claimed 2nd place at the Cup of Excellence (CoE) under the Dawencho cooperative and 6th place with his personal lot. In the 2022 CoE competition, four of his lots landed in the Top 10, including the champion entry crafted by Legesse Botasa, his brother-in-law and long-term production partner.
