Description
Origin: Ethiopia Region: Bensa, Sidama Station: Alo Safo (Alo main station) Producer: Tamiru Tadesse & Messi Altitude: 2380-2600 masl Variety: 74158 Crop: Picked in Jan.2026 / Arrived in May 2026 by air Process: Zero fermentation washed* About farm: Alo Coffee was founded by Tamiru and his wife Messi. Having worked in coffee for years, Tamiru witnessed unfair pricing and undervaluation faced by local coffee farmers. Inspired by Ethiopia’s inaugural Cup of Excellence (CoE) in 2020, the couple launched their coffee venture. In 2021, their specialty coffee from hometown Alo Village claimed national championship at CoE, solidifying their commitment to crafting world-class Sidama specialty coffee. *Zero Fermentation Washed Process: Only premium fully ripe red cherries grown above 2300 masl are selected. Cherries are collected late afternoon, then cleaned via steel screen to remove impurities before dawn the next day. Depulped with professional Penagos equipment, the parchment coffee is immediately rinsed thoroughly with clean water without any tank fermentation. Afterwards, parchment beans are laid on shaded African raised beds for slow natural drying for 15 days, then moved to multi-layer indoor drying racks in cool ventilated rooms to finish drying, with a total drying cycle around 30 days.
