TASTING NOTES: Montmorency cherry citrus, milk chocolate bright, sweet and silky ··· Mejor, meaning ‘best’ in Spanish, is a regional blend of coffees from smallholder producers around Popayán in the department of Cauca, Colombia. These farmers grow Castillo coffee on small plots of land- typically only one or two hectares. These coffees are processed in the washed method and dried on tables at the farm. In partnership with Coffee for Peace, an organization led by the Colombian Coffee Federation, we have had the pleasure of tasting the best lots of coffee from these smallholder farmers. Panther Coffee is very proud to have been a part of this organization’s work since it’s beginning in 2018 and we are very committed to our shared future. By blending together many stellar lots of individuals coffees, we build a lot which is big enough to share, farmers get paid a premium for their smaller lots of coffee and we are able to give our audience the best of Cauca. With notes of sweet cherry, citrus and milk chocolate, great intensity of flavor and a lingering sweetness we are sure that you will enjoy Colombia mejor!
