Description
Origin: Colombia Region: Palestina, Huila Farm: El Porvenir Producer: Cecila Almonacid & Camilo Segura Altitude: 1600–1800+ masl Variety: Geisha Lot: 483 Crop: Dec.2025–Jan.2026 / Arrived Mar.2026 Process: Dark-room dry honey About farm: Finca El Porvenir is an independent coffee estate acquired by Camilo, the green coffee director of Venka, in Colombia. Nestled in the cloud forest belt of the Andes Mountains at 1,800 meters above sea level, the estate benefits from volcanic ash-enriched black soil and significant diurnal temperature variations, creating ideal conditions for slow coffee cherry maturation. About process: In this lot, freshly harvested cherries undergo a 70-hour cold-water fermentation immediately after picking. After depulping and lightly washing to remove a portion of the mucilage, the coffee is transferred to a light-controlled, temperature-stable environment for a second fermentation of approximately 70 hours. Following fermentation, the beans are slow-dried in a dark room, allowing for a gradual and controlled drying process until the optimal moisture content is reached.
