Description
Grown at over 1,900 meters in Tasnaque, Nariño, Colombia, this coffee comes from Finca Santa Ana, a small farm owned by Carlos Efrain Cortes and his family. The Cortes family has deep roots in the region, balancing coffee cultivation with vegetable farming and cattle raising while partnering with Café Occidente, a local regional cooperative. Finca Santa Ana is planted primarily with Castillo alongside a smaller amount of Caturra, and managed collaboratively across multiple generations. During harvest, relatives and local workers come together to handpick ripe cherries, reflecting the community-centered nature of coffee production in Nariño. This lot was processed by Don Carlos and his son, Carlos Esteban, using a traditional washed method, fermenting for 8 to 25 hours before being washed and slowly dried on raised parabolic beds for 8 to 10 days.
